Goals

It is a new year and what does that mean?  To many people they choose New Years Resolutions.  "I am going to start this or quit that"  I have just been thinking to myself what is it that a new year means to me?  It seems to represent a clean slate for most or a fresh beginning.  I often wonder how is it that people move forward with their goals?

One of the things I have my clients and students do when setting goals is to complete a list of what it is they are wanting to achieve.  It is a known fact that a goal that is written down is more likely to come to fruition than one that's just in our head.   So start with a clean piece of paper and separate it into 6 columns labeled today, this week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year and 5 years.  Then just dig in and fill them up with all that you are wanting to accomplish.  It can be as simple as tasks you need to do to as extravagant as a family vacation down the road.   Post this piece of paper where you can see it often.

I like to do this about every three months as over time the things I find important or necessary may change.  I often go look at my goals that I have written down and am pleased to see that most of the things have happened.

The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.  Let us all focus on the positive things we want to have happen in the New Year.
